Fort Collins, COLO. Nov 9, 2018. The Public Relations Student Society of America will be electing new officers for the spring semester. PRSSA will be looking for a new president and vice president. Elections will be held Dec 5, 6-7 p.m. at Beaujo’s Pizza on College.
“We are really looking for organized and motivated individuals who have an interest in public relations to take over our president and vice president positions,” said Katie Middel, the current president for PRSSA. As the president, the role will consist of organizing group meetings, networking with different agencies around Colorado for industry tours and appearances, working with the executive board to meet deadlines, and attending the national conference. The vice president will work aside the president in assisting contacting professionals, planning meetings, and configuring logistics of events. Not only will you get abundant opportunities to network with professionals, but being on the executive board is very beneficial to your resume. Leadership positions, especially in PRSSA, demonstrate your skills that you will use in the field that professionals look for when sorting through resumes. Other benefits include scholarships and awards, access to PRSA news and publications, Webinars, your own PRSA portal, as well as travel opportunities. Also, CSU’s PRSSA Chapter members are the first to hear about public relations and communications internships in the area. Apply for a leadership position with PRSSA on December 5th.
